Qinghai Thrangu Monastery Buddhist College and the 108 Auspicious Stupas were solemnly enlightened on 16 August!

Early morning on the 16th, our venerable Thrangu Rinpoche, Zuri Rinpoche, Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche and Lodroe Nyima Rinpoche, Rinpoches from Damkar Lhundrub Dechen Chokhor Ling, monks and worshippers from different areas came in front of the Buddhist College to witness this joyful and auspicious event.

According to the tradition of the Monastery, little lamas must undergo a 6-year learning for basics and then promote to the Buddhist College upon Graduation. Within this 8-year training period, they receive theoretical Buddhist education as well as traditional grammar school education. The Thrangu Monastery Larung Five Sciences Buddhist Academy has raised up a lot of eminent monks. After the earthquake, lamas could only practice inside shabby tents. Now, under the blessing of various Rinpoches, Khenpos and worshippers, the Monastery could be enlightened and reopened. This is in fact a joyful and celebrative event.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, various Rinpoches, Retreat Center's teachers, Khenpos and Lamas were gradually entering the Grand Hall. Various Rinpoches then lighted up candles in front of the Buddha Hall. Our venerable Thrangu Rinpoche was sitting in the middle. Worshippers from the Buddhist College and from overseas piously supported Thrangu Rinpoche with their "Body, Speech and Mind". Then, Rinpoche joyfully offered inspiration to the disciples in the Buddhist College.

        The puja adjourned at 11:30.

That day, the Buddhist College was full of monks and the door area was crowded with local villagers.

At the end of the Puja, various Rinpoches came to the front of the 108 Stupas for ribbon-cutting and the Enlightenment Ceremony.

People returned to the Buddhist College after lunch. Then, our venerable Thrangu Rinpoche offered inspiration to the worshippers and presented a certificate to the responsible officers of the reconstruction projects.

At 3pm, our venerable Lodroe Nyima Rinpoche, Zuri Rinpoche were sitting in front of the Grand Hall watching the Lama Dance by the monks and the folk dance performed by the local people.

Folk song and dance performances were ended with unforgettable warm applause.
